Decorex 2018, home to the finest talent in interior design, has provided the perfect stage from which Dragons of Walton Street has launched its new wallpaper Blossom Tree. In collaboration with renowned designer Juliet Travers, the new Blossom Tree wallpaper is an explosion of floral perfection. Dragons and Juliet Travers have been at Decorex from 16-19th September 2018 at Stand H29a. The wallpaper is now available to purchase online at both dragonsofwaltonstreet.com and juliettravers.com.
The collaboration marries two quintessentially British brands to create a design that transcends the nursery. Combining years of experience in the interiors industry and raw artistic flair, Dragons and Juliet have worked tirelessly over the past few months to create a wallpaper that is so delicate, it mimics the effect of a hand-painted mural. Designed to complement Dragons existing Linen Blossom artwork and falling petals fabric, the new wallpaper is the latest addition to the family. Using Dragons’ signature colour palette, this beautifully soft design subtly blends gentle pinks and greens with Dragon’s beloved Jute, adorned with a mica pearlescent finish.
Created as a large eight-panelled piece measuring 11.2m wide in total (140cm for single panel), the statement wallpaper offers maximum flexibility to fit any space. The first four panels depict a majestic blossom tree, and the last four, its cascading, tumbling petals. The sets are intuitively designed to work together or independently.
Lucinda Croft, Dragons’ Managing Director, speaks about the exciting partnership: “We are so excited to be at Decorex this year and to be showcasing our new wallpaper with the talented Juliet Travers. She has such a unique gift in being able to bring artwork to life and we are thrilled with the final design.”
Given the wallpaper’s impressive scale, it had to be created using the latest methods in digital printing. Lovingly hand-painted by Juliet, each aspect of the design was drawn full scale onto the panels. Each panel was then digitally scanned by cutting-edge factory machinery in the UK, in order to capture all of the subtle detailing.
“This is such a special collaboration for both myself as an artist and Juliet Travers Ltd as a brand – it has been an incredible few months creating something so unique and exciting for such a high-end brand like Dragons.” Juliet, Director of Juliet Travers – Wallpapers and Fabrics.
The stand was one of two children’s brands exhibiting at the show this year and as such was a honeypot for visitors. With the new wallpaper proudly taking centre stage, the new design was accompanied by the exquisite Regency Collection and Blossom Fabric. Whilst the show may be over, we cannot recommend having a look at the new collaboration in more detail. Feel free to get in touch with the team if this would be of interest.
