Returning for the seventh year, the delightfully festive Ideal Home Show at Christmas descended once again on London Olympia, offering a plethora of helpful tips from interior decorations and hand-crafted gifts to furniture and New Year home improvements.

Celebrity ambassadors included: GBBO winner Candice Brown, Gino D’Acampo, interiors guru Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Greg Wallace and wine expert Olly Smith.

For visitors looking for interior inspiration, the Christmas roomsets, embraced everything that’s magical about the seasonal holiday. Sponsored by Good Homes, style editor Jess Taverner took inspiration from on-trend rich and inviting colour palettes – providing each scheme with a look that followed the overarching theme of ‘Christmas Gems’. The three sets were entitled Ski Lodge, Precious Jewels and Folklore and were officially sponsored by: BHS UK, Walls and Floors and Loft Furniture.

Ski Lodge:

A modern take on a rustic ski lodge, the bedroom set showcased accents of silver against soft, subtle pinks. Faux-fur and velvet throws finished the look, creating a cosy, wintery setting.

Precious Jewels:

Providing a touch of glamour, this dining room set combined sapphire blue with amethyst decorations and show-stopping brass and gold accessories. Adding glamour through mid-century style furniture, statement lighting and marble floor tiles, this scheme evoked complete elegance, perfect for welcoming guests this Christmas.

Folklore:

The vibrant folklore living room was inspired by hand-made embroidered cushions and eucalyptus greens. Centred around a modern wood burner, the set combined berry reds and holly greens to provide comfort and warmth.

With talks and demos at the Christmas theatre, tasty treats from top food and drink producers in the Eat & Drink Festival, the show is must-visit for next year!
